Matthew grew up near Erhard and Emily in Alexandria. They met in 2008, and married in 2010. Matthew was stationed with the Marine Corps. in California, where they welcomed their daughters. They relocated to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in 2013 and welcomed their son. After 9 years, God had bigger plans for the Ripley family and called them to the Fergus Falls area to build on raw land. God tugged at them again, and they found a small hobby farm near Henning in 2022. Hot Mess LLC was started in 2024.
They thrive on spending time together in the fresh air and tackling outdoor projects as a family. That hands-on experience is what drives Hot Mess LLC—making sure every trailer is safe, reliable, and matched to the job so our customers can haul with confidence.

Formed in 2024, Hot Mess LLC is a family-run trailer rental business. We’re raising our three kids to love God, to love the outdoors, work hard, help our neighbors. Every trailer we offer is something we’d trust our own family to use—safe, clean, and ready to haul so you can get your work done or enjoy your weekend without the stress.
